Help for Rescues 2017-07-22T20:55:27+00:00

Working Together

Rescue Partners have access to many benefits through the Ottawa Paw Pantry. While our focus is on providing food to individuals, we will occasionally be able to offer food to rescues. There may be special cases where rescues have an emergent need, such as new litters or puppy food needs, and that’s one of the things we can potentially help with. Please read our Eligibility Guidelines thoroughly to make sure that you qualify for pet food assistance.

PLEASE NOTE: We are currently experiencing higher than normal application volume. Please be patient with us, our team will attend to your request as soon as possible.

Rescue Partner Benefits

  • Access to surplus donations, such as beds, collars/leashes, crates/cages
  • Special circumstance assistance, such as puppy/kitten food should the rescue take in a new litter
  • Social media recognition and cross posting

Program Eligibility

The Ottawa Paw Pantry asks that the following guidelines are read and agreed to in order for a household to receive assistance. These guidelines are set up so that we may help as many people as possible.

  • Rescues must be in good community standing

  • Animals must be neutered as part of the overall process

  • Rescues must be based in Ottawa

  • We accept donations of all kinds of pet food. By accepting food and/or services from the Pantry, the recipient, all household members, their friends and family agree not to hold the Pantry, its staff, volunteers, and benefactors legally liable in the unfortunate event the recipient’s pet(s) becomes ill or the food upsets the pet’s stomach.

  • When you receive pet food from the Ottawa Paw Pantry, you are aware of the potential risks involved with feeding your pet(s) a new food, since it’s unlikely the pet food received is your pet’s usual brand(s).
