Paw It Forward is Associate Veterinary Clinics’ (AVC) national philanthropic program driven by our Cultural Value of Community Leadership. The program engages the entire community – AVC and our clients, local supporting agencies and their clients, our vendor partners – in helping people make pets’ lives better. The program covers our extensive campaign of national, regional and local community endeavors, from supporting humane societies, rescue groups and SPCAs, to enhancing the awareness and learning of animal health and welfare issues, to providing support and assistance to families and pets in need.
Caring for pets can ease loneliness, reduce stress and anxiety, promote social interaction, and encourage exercise. Pets are non-judgmental, loyal and trustworthy. They provide unconditional love and affection as well as social and emotional support. No matter your circumstances, pets can provide a deep sense of comfort. For families dealing with hardship or are just getting by, the importance of this bond can be even more critical to their overall well-being. Pets are a cherished member of many families, and can potentially be ones’ only family.
Associate Veterinary Clinics is well aware of the importance of the human-animal bond. We know that it is not uncommon for marginalized pet owners to sacrifice their own food for their pets. We understand that many such pet owners struggle to provide medical care, vaccinations and spaying or neutering for their beloved animals. In response, we have created the Paw It Forward program to assist these pet owners by strengthening their connection to their pets and celebrating the bond. We provide millions of dollars each year in support of Paw It Forward.
