The Ottawa Paw Pantry is a 100% non-profit, volunteer-run, donation-based organization. We provide pet food to our community in Ottawa through community pantries and direct support.

Community pantry

Thanks to the support of local partners, we have a number of community pantries across town. If available, Ottawa residents can pick up food at these pantries with no questions asked. We hope to continue to expand these locations as resources become available.  As we work with these locations, we encourage you to contact us for more details.

Direct support

Please note that request for urgent support is on hold at the moment while we catch up on existing requests.

Through our urgent support program, Ottawa pet parents can request direct support a maximum of three times per calendar year.

It’s important to remember that acceptance is not automatically guaranteed, and is based on food availability. We are a supplemental feeding resource that depends on donations and volunteers, therefore we cannot guarantee the amount of food or type of food you will receive. We do however try our best to accommodate food preferences and medical dietary restrictions.

Direct support is for companion animals only.  Pet parents must be residents of Ottawa.

Hi, everyone! My name is Olivia. I’m a Beagle who lives in Ottawa with my mommy and my best friends. There’s Cosmo, my best friend, Diablo the cat, and those other two pesky cats who are mean to me sometimes. I’m here to share my story and to thank you for all your support.

My mommy tries really hard to take care of us the best way she can. I know she loves us a lot. Sometimes she gets sad—I heard someone whisper once that she feels depressed. My mommy cannot work because she doesn’t always feel very well. Sometimes I can hear her cry, so I  snuggle up to her to make sure she’s okay.

Before Ottawa Paw pantry helped us, my bowl would be empty sometimes, so mommy would give my furry family and me her dinner so we wouldn’t go hungry. It would taste really good… until I got a tummy ache… but I’d never let mommy know! We all know she was trying her best to make sure our bellies were full.

A few months ago, mommy came home with a cart full of food and treats just for me and Cosmo and the cats! She told me some nice people from Ottawa Paw Pantry are going to make sure we have food! Now mommy doesn’t need to give us her dinner, so we sit and eat dinner together. (She thinks I’m getting a little chunky—maybe it’s that big bag of dog treats from Ottawa Paw Pantry she thinks she’s hidden… but I’ve found them!)

Thank you for filling our bellies, Ottawa Paw Pantry. We feel a lot better now!

Thankfully full,
Olivia the Beagle & family
